Facebook Launches Community Help
Today Facebook is expanding its Safety Check feature that allows friends to declare they’re safe after a disaster with the launch of “Community Help.” The feature allows locals to aid people nearby, such as providing baby supplies, water, or a room in their home. Victims of natural disasters, local accidents, and other such events can search through these categorized posts and connect with providers over Facebook Messenger. Community Help launches today in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Saudi Arabia. If the feature is successful, Facebook hopes to roll out Community Help across the globe.
