It seems as though Facebook is looking to clean up their fake news problem. In a recent job posting, the social network giant is looking to hire “an experienced news executive” to add to the Global News Partnerships team. The company seeks to combat fake news on its network after the public scrutiny of its feed significantly contributing to the election of President-elect Donald Trump. CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg have addressed these claims, and seek to correct the journalism issues the company has been having. Bill Gates/BEV Contribute $1 Billion to Clean Energy Fund
Breakthrough Energy Ventures (BEV) has stepped up its game. One of the group’s highest board members, Bill Gates, announced a $1 billion contribution dedicated to clean energy innovation. Among the venture’s other board members are Jeff Bazos (Amazon), Richard Branson (Virgin Group), Reid Hoffman (Linkedin) and Alibaba founder Jack Ma. Even though this contribution is a only a fraction of what the board members are worth collectively, it’s a massive step in the right direction in a world fighting to clean up its carbon footprint.
