Apple Event Updates
The long awaited Apple event was yesterday and we’re summing up the main points in case you missed it. Here’s what everyone is talking about:
- iPhone 7 – Highlights include that it is available in a new shades of black, it’s water resistant (not waterproof), has a longer lasting battery life, better camera and the rumors are true..no headphone jack.
- AirPods – Since there is no headphone jack on the iPhone 7, Apple introduced AirPods. AirPods are wireless headphones that connect via their charging case. With 5 hours battery and an additional 24 hours with the charging case, it will be interesting to see how these do. Everyone is joking that they have lost them before even getting them. See a video on AirPods here.
- New Apple Watch – Apple Watch 2 is now swimproof and GPS enabled. The CEO of Niantic came out to say that Pokemon Go will be coming to the watch…guess Pokemon Go isn’t dead.
- Super Mario to iOS – Was it a Nintendo or Apple event? Nintendo announced that Super Mario Run will be coming to the App Store. Nintendo’s stock went up 25%.

Become the DJ in Your Next Uber
How do you become the DJ in your Uber if you don’t have an aux cord? In a new partnership with Pandora, this problem can be solved. The Uber app will now allow riders to access their Pandora account and stream their music. Riders can also see what their drivers are listening to, and change to their station if they aren’t into it. Uber hopes this will improve rides for both the driver and the passenger. (Source: Mashable)
Say Goodbye to Instagram Photo Maps
Instagram is finally ditching their photo map view feature. Photo maps allowed you the option to see a map view on someone’s profile and would display where their pictures came from. The feature was borderline creepy and not widely used. No need to fear because geotags are not disappearing…yet at least. Go look at photo maps while you still can because the app is phasing them out. (Source: Mashable)
