The trio is behind a $100 million program that will send tiny spacecraft to explore Alpha Centauri (our nearest star system). How are they going to do this you ask? The game plan is to send hundreds of space probes carrying cameras, photon thrusters, navigation, and communication equipment via laser beams to collect images, data, and see if there are any signs of life, and report back to Earth. The estimated flight time is 20 years. We’ll be waiting. (Source: CNN)
