Top 5 Most Googled People in 2025
As the new year continues, many public figures and celebrities are gaining traction on the internet for either their ideas, policies, or drama. 2025 has already been a year of unexpected twists and turns, with these figures being the face of it all.
The website Glimpse highlights the most popular people online by filtering through over 25 billion searches on Google. Their findings may be shocking to some, showcasing how pop culture and political influence has a large effect on what people care about.
We compiled a list of the top five most searched people in 2025 below!
1. Donald Trump
Donald Trump, the 47th president of the US and former 45th president, is no surprise for being the most searched person in 2025. In fact, his name was searched 201,716,162 times in the past 30 days.
Trump is known for his political values, business work, and personality, which helps him get attention online. His regular activity on Meta’s X also adds to his media presence.
Most notably, he has implemented executive orders to end US birthright citizenship and control federal employee programs. His recent meeting with Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, also exploded on the internet as a highly controversial event.
2. Elon Musk
Elon Musk is second on this list because of his relations with Trump and influence on technology in today’s age. Musk’s popularity comes from owning the X social media site, formally known as Twitter, that allows people to publicly share their opinions and quickly receive information.
His newest company xAI is a direct competitor to OpenAI. Musk believes that xAI and its chatbot “Grok” can effectively challenge sites like ChatGPT and DeepSeek. Investors have even given the company $75 billion value evaluation.
Musk has also come up in conversation for his role in the Trump Administration, leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). His work in the White House to cut federal spending and force employees out of their jobs has been a widely debated topic.
3. Kendrick Lamar
Kendrick Lamar has been on the top charts this year for his music and cultural impact. At the most recent Grammy award show on February 2nd, Lamar won both Record of the Year and Song of the Year for his track “Not Like Us.” The song was created to battle another rapstar, Drake, which resulted in an internet frenzy.
Later on February 9th, Lamar headlined the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. He made an impact by featuring dancers in American flag colors and bringing out actor Samuel L. Jackson as Uncle Sam.
His outward stance on cultural division in the US and call for social justice makes him a widely searched artist.
4. Drake
Drake is fourth on this list mainly because of his online feuds with Kendrick Lamar this year. Drake and Lamar’s drama carried into their music, where they ended up making songs about each other’s flaws.
In late 2024, Drake released the song “Family Matters,” in an effort to publicly accuse Lamar of abusing his fiancée, Whitney Alford. Shortly after, Lamar released his Grammy-winning “Not Like Us” track, and the two rappers are still being heavily searched on.
Drake has since released a collaborative album with the artist PartyNextDoor and started touring in Australia in February.
5. Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift always seems to be on Hollywood’s radar, but in 2025, she has been all over social media and news headlines for multiple reasons, from her record-breaking Eras Tour to her relationship with football player Travis Kelce.
Her Eras Tour was a huge success last year, and the energy she brings to her concerts captivates fans and reels them in for more. Her impressive work ethic, playing “149 shows across five continents and 51 cities worldwide,” has made her an internet phenomenon.
Most recently in the Super Bowl, Swift was being recorded supporting her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. She received many boos from Philadelphia Eagles fans when she was shown on the video boards in the game.
Swift’s success with her music and public relationship has led her to be a closely-followed figure.
