GroupBy Inc. Launches eCommerce AI-Powered Search And Product Discovery Solutions On Google Cloud Marketplace
GroupBy Inc., a leading provider of AI-powered Search and Product Discovery solutions, announced this month the release of its product discovery suite on Google Cloud Marketplace.
As eCommerce continues to experience explosive growth, the exclusive partnership with Google will ensure that customers benefit from Google’s resources, combined with GroupBy’s expertise, go-to-market assistance and ongoing white-glove service. The seamless accessibility of the eCommerce search offering is likely to further fuel the rise of digital sales in the retail market.
Consumers spent more than $861 billion with U.S. merchants in 2020, a 44 percent increase from 2019 and the highest U.S. eCommerce growth in 20 years, according to Digital Commerce 360.
Many retailers looking for an easy way to improve their eCommerce could benefit from the search suite, as GroupBy’s clients include major retail companies, including GAP, Cabela’s, CVS Pharmacy, Crate & Barrel, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Kay Jewelers, and Dollar Tree.
“In our commitment to provide the best-in-class technology and infrastructure to our clients, we have made our solution available exclusively on the Google Cloud Marketplace,” GroupBy CEO Roland Gossage said in the company’s press release. “With ever-increasing data volumes and complexities, more companies are choosing Google Cloud as their cloud service provider. This partnership will help our clients to simplify their vendor onboarding, leverage their combined cloud spend, speed up deployment times and ultimately help them deliver exceptional digital experiences for consumers.”
The ease of access to GroupBy’s search suite on Google Cloud means many more retail businesses will be able to enhance findability and customer experience, paving the way for improved sales on eCommerce platforms upgraded with GroupBy innovations.
New GroupBy clients will also benefit from go-to-market efforts and expert guidance on how they can leverage eCommerce improvements to scale their business, the company said in its press release.
“We are excited to partner with GroupBy as a new product discovery partner to help vendors enhance their eCommerce capabilities and deliver highly personalized customer experiences,” said Chris Colyer, WW Head of Retail Industry Partnerships for Google Cloud. “With this partnership, retailers can expect seamless implementation of search and personalization capabilities to improve conversions.”
Many retailers are already focused on improving their digital sales through eCommerce solutions, as illustrated by the decline of Amazon’s sales growth in 2020, which dropped to 31.4 percent from its 43.8 percent share in 2019, according to Digital Commerce 360.
That’s partly because the online marketplace became more competitive in 2020, as stay-at-home orders and quarantines caused by the global pandemic boosted online sales’ portion of total retail from 16 percent to 19 percent, according to a UNCTAD report published May 3.
The impact has been global, with retail sales jumping in many countries, and worldwide e-commerce sales increasing to $26.7 trillion in 2019, up 4 percent from 2018, according to UNCTAD.
That includes business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) sales. Online sales comprised a whopping 30 percent of global gross domestic product (GDP) that year.
Another outcome is that more retailers will need high-grade eCommerce services to compete in the fast-growing eCommerce marketplace.
By getting direct access to the latest innovations within Google and GroupBy, more businesses can enhance customer experience on their eCommerce platform by enabling frictionless customer journeys and improving product discovery.
