1. WhatsApp Helps Alleviate Annoying Group Chats
Group chats can get out of control. WhatsApp is introducing a new feature for group chats that only allows administrators to send messages. Since group chats aren’t always going to want to enable this feature, the idea is for certain professional groups to keep the messages on topic. “One way people use groups is to receive important announcements and information, including parents and teachers at schools, community centers, and non-profit organizations. We’ve introduced this new setting so admins can have better tools for these use cases,” WhatsApp said in a blog post.

2. Redbox Teams up with Warner Bros.
Just as we thought Redbox was a thing of the past, they have a new trick up their sleeve to keep customers coming back. Redbox and Warner Bros. have announced a deal that allows Redbox to offer new releases as soon as those new movies are available in retail stores. In the past, Redbox couldn’t offer new movies until a week after the home video released. No wonder everyone went to Netflix. In addition to Warner Bros., Netflix has a similar deal with Sony, Universal Pictures, and Lionsgate. With Redbox having more kiosks in the US than McDonald’s and Starbucks combined (41,500 to be exact), they might stay relevant a few more years… at most.

3. LeBron Switched Teams… Again
It’s official… LeBron is switching teams for the fourth time. Over the weekend, he signed a contract with the LA Lakers for 4 years, at $153.3M. That’s $38M per year. James officially became the first player in NBA history to lead a postseason in scoring and switch teams the following offseason. With James having 2 houses in LA (no big deal), he said this decision was well-thought-out for his family.
