At that time, the messenger platform Line claimed to have two million users and Telegram announced that the platform was downloaded by eight million new users.
The CEO of the social media platform announced that the main idea of acquiring the messenger platform was to develop a communication platform that can provide service to many people for free. Soon the founder of the instant messenger app also said that the company will not share the user information with other third parties or government sectors.
The instant messenger platform became globally popular and the number of active users increased to seven hundred million and the number of messages sent through the platform was thirty billion.
Changing the device or number
Most of the users who were using the WhatsApp messenger app complained that they lost their account information the moment when they changed their mobile number or phone. WhatsApp requires only the contact number of a person to create a WhatsApp account.
Switching phone
When the users switch from one device to another, the data stored in the device pertaining to the account gets saved in the old phone and the users have a hard time in retaining the information. Since many users complained about this issue, the company released a step by step instruction report regarding it.
When the users use the same type of mobile phones, like switching from Android to Android, then the users have the option to migrate the messages depending on the type of mobile phone they use. Any type of phone may be, it will have the option to transfer the chats from one device to the other. However, the users cannot transfer the message history of BlackBerry and Nokia S40.
If the user is switching to a different type of phone- like moving from Android to iPhone with the same phone number that contains all the account information. The user has to download the instant messenger app on their new mobile phone and they have to verify the number, however, the users cannot transfer the messages across different types of phones.
But if the user is not going to preserve their phone number, they can directly download the app from the App store or Play store and register using the new contact number. It is important that the user deletes the old account before creating a new account. Though the user is not going to access the old mobile, if some other person activates the old number within forty five days then all the account details are associated with that number gets deleted.

WABetaInfo is the famous website that leaks all the information pertaining to the instant messenger app. The site recently posted on its official Twitter page that the messenger app is working on a new feature that will protect the data and messages of the users when they switch from one mobile device to another.
According to the new update, the instant messenger app will automatically inform all the contacts that the user has changed their contact number, so that the user need not inform all the contacts about them changing their number. The new update is in the beta version for the Windows 10 and other Windows Phone. The app has an option that allows the user to share their new mobile number with all the members in the contact list. As the option informs all the contacts about the number change, without the user informing their group admins to add them in the respective group- the Change Number option alters them to replace the user’s old number with the updated one.
There is no assurance that the Change number in the beta version will transfer into a full version of the app, but the idea of the new update save more time and energy of the user when they change their number. Already the New Broadcast option that is present in the instant messenger app allows the users to easily inform all the contacts about the change of their phone number, however, not all WhatsApp users are aware of this option. This option is found on the main menu and it allows the users to send bulk messages to a single group. This option is similar to that of the Bcc option that is present in the mail.
