Google Wants To Eliminate Passwords
Android users can forget all their passwords with Google’s most recent project. Project Abacus is Google’s new thing to reinvent security and eliminate passwords. Project Abacus works by using sensor data from your phone to verify security. Working with a developer API called Trust API, they want to verify your identity by tapping into things like location and facial recognition. Twitter Ditches Confusing Rules
Last week, Twitter reported they would no longer count photos as part of the 140-character limit. Woooooo. Now they are reporting that @ mentions will also no longer count as part of the character limit. Wooooooo. The reason for this is to make it easier to have group conversations. You no longer have to shorten all your words and use incorrect grammar in order to reply to 4 people with their @ handles. Tweet on. (Source: TechCrunch)
Book a Lyft 24 Hours in Advance…
Unless you live somewhere where ridesharing apps are disappearing (cough, cough Austin), you rely on Uber & Lyft to get you places. Uber & Lyft have always wanted to be ‘on-demand,’ so they did not allow users to book in advance because that’s what black cars and limos are for, right? Lyft has changed their minds by deciding to test out what if they did allow users to book in advance. Beginning in San Francisco, Lyft riders can schedule 24 hours in advance, giving Lyft riders more options when it comes to the app. (Source: The Verge)
