Snapchat Sticks to Controversial Design
Snapchat’s new user interface redesign is so jarringly different that many have voiced their opinions of dislike. Even in the face of such backlash, Evan Spiegel, Snapchat’s CEO, seems unlikely to yield anytime soon as he basically said “get used to it.” His goal for the redesign aims to clarify communication and broadcasting within Snapchat, rather than have a mix of stories as you swipe right. Google Implements Adblocker
Intrusive ads must be stopped! Google shares the same sentiment, recently launching an ad-blocker for its Chrome web browser. Google’s motive was to curtail full-page ads, auto-playing video ads, among other ads deemed intrusive by the Coalition for Better Ads. Results are already promising as multiple sites have altered the ads they host after being warned by Google. Today marks a significant win for Internet consumers as the Internet is now less cluttered by “junk” adverts. (Source: BBC)
New Bug Discovered
… in iOS 11 that is. The bug involves people sending a specific character that crashes the iPhone and blocks access to your messaging apps. The bug itself involves sending an Indian language character to devices, which in turns crashes your devices as apps fail to load the character.
