Sayonara Signed Receipts
2018 will officially be the end of having to sign receipts, which is the only cursive practice most of us even get, so sayonara to that too. Major credit card companies including MasterCard, Discover and American Express (not Visa) will stop requiring card members to sign receipts since it’s no longer a safety measure. A fair share of us don’t sign the back of our credit cards to begin with, which was originally the sole purpose for requiring signed receipts; companies are supposed to compare the two signatures to help eliminate fraudulent purchases. Instagram is rolling out a cool feature that will allow users to follow a hashtag like you would a friend or celebrity. Go to ‘tags,’ choose a hashtag you’d like to follow, and begin seeing the top posts circulating from that specific hashtag. Anyone wanna guess how many more times we can say hashtag? Apple Makes a Move into Texas
Finisar is partnering with Apple to make laser chips for Apple’s iPhone X (i.e. face recognition, proximity sensing, ARKit). Finisar is using Apple’s $390 million investment to reopen a shuttered plant in Texas, creating over 500 jobs. Finisar is known for manufacturing VCSELs, vertical-cavity, surface-emitting lasers, which will help power some of Apple’s new features and will be 100% made in Texas. (Source: CNBC & The Verge)
