Facebook Ads Adding More Transparency
US Senate and House intelligence committees have been investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will give Congress details on over 3,000 election advertisements linked to Russian accounts focused on divisive topics such as LGBT rights, race, immigration, and gun rights. Future political advertisements will not only disclose who paid for the add, but also allow the public to visit the advertiser’s page and see what other ads they are running on Facebook. RoboCop, Is that You?
Knightscope, a Silicon Valley based company that makes security robots, added two new robots to its arsenal. The K1 is a stationary robot that can be placed in building entries and exit points. It uses millimeter wave technology to sense the size and shape of weapons as people walk past it. The K7 is a mobile robot meant for outdoor areas like wind farms or airfields and can travel at a max speed of 3 mph. These gentle giants are meant to complement, not replace human security teams. They focus on data processing and on notifying the good guys about potential bad guys. (Source: CNET)
The Knightscope K7 has four wheels and can navigate rugged terrain.
Uber Loses its London Driver License
Don’t you hate it when you have to renew your license? Count yourself lucky you have that problem.
