1. Facebook Wants Your Nudes
Ever thought of sending nudes… through Facebook? Well now you can… Facebook is asking British users to send naked photos of themselves to the social network to stop “revenge porn.” The idea is to allow Facebook to assign a unique identifier to your intimate videos/photos so that Facebook will automatically block similar videos/photos posted by bad actors. Who will see your nudes? Facebook reassures individuals participating in this program that only a highly “specially trained” group of five reviewers will have access to your photos.

2. Disney’s Stickman Does a Backflip
Imagine watching an action movie in the future where stunt doubles are machines covered in CGI (computer-generated-imagery). This imagined future may not be far off as Disney recently revealed their Stickman robot, a seven-foot-long piece of metal that mimics a trapezing gymnast. The robot utilizes specialized sensory technology, inertial motion sensing, laser rangefinders, and computer vision to ensure Stickman’s ability to pull off the stunts while landing safely.

3. Apple’s 7-nanometer A12 Processors
Apple supplier TSMC has started mass production on the processors used for this year’s lineup of new iPhones. This chip, which is expected to be called the A12, could be the first 7-nanometer process in a commercial device. To truly appreciate this technological feat, we must first understand how small a nanometer truly is. According to nano.gov, a nanometer is one-billionth of a meter. To put this in perspective, a sheet of paper is approximately 100,000 nanometers thick while a strand of DNA is 2.5 nanometers in diameters. What this means in context is that there are billions of transistors packed densely together is a small microchip all packaged neatly in your iPhone. How cool is that!
