Security Overview of Brosix and How to Concentrate on Encrypted Communication

For clients who wish to keep track of user activity on their private networks, Brosix has a chat history archiving feature. This feature tracks and stores all user activity on Brosix servers, and provides a search tool for locating previous communication. There is also an option to set the length of time data is stored before being automatically deleted to 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, or 3 months. This grants clients flexibility in determining how much data is stored on Brosix servers and for how long.
Brosix protects data in other key ways as well. Brosix networks allow for unlimited peer-to-peer file transfers, a feature that allows users to communicate directly between themselves without fearing their data will fall into the wrong hands. And when it comes to its own webpages, Brosix secures them using 128-bit encryption with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). All of these measures create a multi-layered approach to protecting data, but this isn’t the limit of security on Brosix.
Brosix’s security approach also extends to protecting users from malware by streamlining the process of integrating users’ preferred antivirus program directly into the IM application. This allows users to easily scan any incoming files transferred through the Brosix network, thus protecting them from potential malware threats.
Security is Extended
Security at Brosix isn’t limited to only the industry-leading tools and security standards mentioned above, but extends to hardware and human resources in order to form a holistic approach. Brosix servers, which host clients’ private IM networks, are state-of-the-art and are distributed across facilities with the highest security standards. Servers are also backed up regularly to at least two geo locations using secure VPN connections to prevent any data loss. Brosix server staff members have also been trained to focus on security and customer service. This allows Brosix to create and meet security measures and contingency plans with their clients in mind.
Many Brosix clients have specific security standards they must meet, usually related to data storage and protection of customers’ personal information. Clients working in the health services industry in the United States, for example, must meet data storage regulations as outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Brosix helps clients meet HIPAA, as well as certain accounting standards such as HITECH, SAS-70, and SSAE 16, by not processing, changing, or manipulating client data in any way.
