It’s Raining Emojis
The Apple iOS 11.1 update features dozens of new emojis. Mythical creatures like wizards, fairies, and vampires join the ranks of the dancing girl and sassy girl emojis. New activities include rock climbing and curling, and new winter clothing items like gloves and a trench coat. There are also a couple of new animals, facial expressions, and gender neutral characters. These new emojis are meant to spice up our messages and increase the iOS update adoption rate, since people update their software to be at the forefront of the ever-changing emoji scene. WeWorking for Samsung
When iPhone users break their device or experience emoji malfunctions, they can simply visit the Genius Bar at an Apple store for assistance. Samsung is partnering with WeWork locations to provide similar “care centers.” Samsung users can visit the service desk at a WeWork location and get some work done while they wait. However, these locations won’t be able to do actual repairs; they will only offer simple troubleshooting and mail devices to offsite repair shops. Still, this will help expand the number of locations and offer a more productive atmosphere when users are at their lowest point in life. (Source: The Verge)
Are You a Youthful Urbanite?
A leaked Facebook marketing pitch breaks down 14 different user segments along political lines. Facebook users are first divided into five categories: very liberal, liberal, moderate, conservative, and very conservative. Each of these categories contain subcategories, such as 10.2 million very liberal “youthful urbanites.” These people have an average age of 29, like boxing and comedy TV, and support women’s issues and Barack Obama. Meanwhile, the very conservative “great outdoors” segment are interested in the NRA, tea party, and “stop Obamacare.” Click here for more info on why customer segmentation is important and don’t forget to add which segment you fall under to your Tinder profile.
