Apple is Making Moves on India
India Market Gold Mine for Apple
Apple may soon tap into a potential gold mine of customers. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, the company is “oh so close” to finalizing a deal that includes plans to extend manufacturing to India. Apple hopes to emulate some of the same success they’ve experienced in China by setting up shop“ in the world’s 2nd most populous nation.” To date, the Indian smartphone market has been dominated by Samsung and Chinese brands such as Lenovo, Vivo, and Oppo. Now Apple wants a larger piece of that pie. (Source: Tech Crunch)
Elon Musk and the Boring Company
Like many of us, Elon Musk is tired of traffic. So much so that he’s taking matters into his own hands and proposing a new tunnel-digging venture called “the Boring Company.” The tunnel would allow Musk to go from his desk to LAX and according to his Twitter feed, plans to dig will begin in a month or so. Digging is no longer a prison thing. (Source: The Washington Post)
The Roof, the Roof is on Fire
OK, so not the roof, but HP’s laptops could be. A battery recall has been announced for models HP ProBook, HP ENVY, Compaq Presario, and HP Pavilion notebooks sold between March 2013 and October 2016. The company is advising that lithium batteries for these models be removed and that consumers request a free replacement. In the meantime, you can still plug in your laptop/notebook and use it. Overheating problems have been minimal compared to Samsung’s Note 7. So send those puppies back if you have one. (Source: The Verge)
