1. Chipotle On a Comeback
After facing a downhill reputation from food safety concerns, affecting its sales and stock price, Chipotle is still recovering. However, former Taco Bell CMO, Chris Brandt, has joined the company in April and is ready to make a change. The overall marketing mission, Brandt said, is “to be more visible, more familiar and more relevant.” Bottom line, Chipotle wants “to be more talked about.” Coming September, a new marketing strategy will be tested. With the decreases in sales, the new marketing management team will need to be spot on with their marketing ideas to save the company’s reputation. We finally have an answer to why guac costs extra.

2. Twitter Suspends Abusive Comments
Starting August 10, Twitter will implement a “more aggressive enforcement of [our] guidelines related to chats sent during live broadcasts,” according to Periscope. The platform reported that its monthly user count dropped by a million users over the last few months, and could fall lower as it works to get rid of bots and abusive users. Periscope claims that users can already block and report chats that contain abusive behavior, but the company wants to take this online abuse a step further. Twitter reportedly has new efforts to prompt reviewers to take a closer look at those users repeatedly reported for being abusive. A step in the right direction for the future of technology and cyberbullying.

3. NASA’s Search for New Planets
NASA’s new planet-hunting space telescope TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite) has begun its hunt for undiscovered worlds. TESS was launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral in Florida. Although this was launched back in April, the first collection of scientific data is expected to be retrieved in August, and every 13.5 days after that. Based on the data, TESS scientists will begin scanning the information to identify any signs of new planets. According to NASA, “TESS will monitor more than 200,000 stars for temporary drops in brightness caused by planetary transits.”
