Facebook, AKA their Oculus team, invented this measurement to give programmers a way to measure individual frame durations for video frame rates. For those who aren’t rocket scientists, this means instead of using choppy visual inputs, with a complimentary side of motion sickness, the flick should make sure everything is sync for visual effects.
