Donald Trump vs. Ronald Reagan
Trump’s DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) decision to end the program which allows minor illegal immigrants a renewable two-year period to obtain a work permit has stirred more than just the pot. Steve Jobs’ wife, Laurene Powell Jobs, has set fire to Trump’s decision and is taking action. Jobs has a fierce defense position for DACA, so she’s voicing her opinion by purchasing 30 second political ad spots, which will air in big city television networks such as Denver and Las Vegas. The spot uses Ronald Reagan’s farewell address with his statement, “If there had to be city walls, the walls had doors. And the doors were open to anyone with the will and the heart to get here. That’s how I saw it, and see it still.” Jobs is trying to open the doors that are closing to push people back out. (Source: recode)
It’s All Fun and Games Until Someone Uses an Apple Watch
We all knew technology was going to change the world as we see it, but everyday a new use comes into play. One play was during the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees game. The Yankees accused the Red Sox of stealing their pitch signs during a four-game series last month. It’s not against the rules to steal another team’s sign if they are using natural sight alone, but if binoculars or any other kind of advancements is used, in this case an Apple Watch, then the practice is illegal. Supposedly, the Red Sox pitcher was collecting signs from a staff member on his Apple Watch, who then it turn relayed the signs back to the rest of the team. The Red Sox fired back saying the Yankees used a camera on their video network to steal their signs. Is it ever a strong argument to say “they did it first.” No proof has been found yet from either side, but we all know there’s always going to be a sore loser. (Source: CNET)
SEO for Tinder
Tinder is coming in hot as the top grossing app for the first time since its launch. The sudden popularity is due to a new feature called Tinder Gold, which allows users to see who has swiped right (liked them). This little feature is $4.99 per month on top of the $10.99 per month for those who also use Tinder Plus. Tinder Plus has already been in the game for a while now, allowing users to boost themselves, making their profile appear first to those they want to match with, and give themselves a second chance to swipe right when accidentally swiping left. Love at second swipe? (Source: TechCrunch)
