Trump Fights Fire with More Fire
This morning, Trump directed some vicious tweets towards “Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. Trump claimed Joe called him to stop a National Enquirer article about the two co-hosts. Joe claims this never happened. The show and Trump used to have a close relationship, but that started to dwindle once the hosts started questioning Trump’s mental state. The Twitter fight started yesterday when Trump claimed he didn’t watch “Morning Joe,” but heard they have been talking bad about him, then proceeded to say that the two co-hosts tried joining him at Mar-a-Lago during New Years. But it didn’t stop there when he commented that Mika was “bleeding badly from a face lift.” Trump’s Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said the president was “fighting fire with fire.” But is fighting fire with fire really a good tactic for POTUS? We will be sending Trump a copy of our book What Happens in Vegas Stays on YouTube … again. (Source: Fox News, ABC News)
Musk Goes Underground
If you’re staying up-to-date with Elon Musk and The Boring Company, then you know big transportation innovations are headed our way. And no, we’re not talking about self-driving cars. Musk is working on an underground tunnel network to chauffeur cars to their destinations. Think of it like a car wash where you put your vehicle in neutral, sit back and relax. The basic idea is there will be surface points for cars to drive onto elevator panels, which will descend to a tunnel network as cars slide into the flow of traffic aboard automated sleds; no one’s actually driving in the underground routes. And get this, it’s supposed to be operational by next week. The main goal is to get the tunnels up and running in LA to transport cars, bikes and even people to reduce all the congestion within the city. Imagine what Musk could do if A.L.I.E. gave him an upgrade to his brain like she did to Raven — The 100 reference anyone? (Source: TechCrunch)
Twitter’s Live Stream Partnerships
Twitter’s strategy for the moment, in order to revive the company, has been centered around live streaming events. A pretty good idea since Millennials and Centennials are watching everything on their phones. But perhaps it was too good of an idea since it invited competition. For example, Twitter once had the NFL’s Thursday Night Football rights until Amazon bid 5X the amount. Twitter hasn’t thrown in the towel just yet as they have a new partnership with Wimbledon to include behind-the-scenes looks and “selected action” from different matches. Another big partnership is with San Diego Comic Con to live stream their event for four days of the show floor. Previously this summer, Twitter successfully live streamed James Comey’s Congressional Testimony and Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester benefit concert. Twitter may have lost some of their big deals, but they’re hoping a lot of smaller deals will make up for it. (Source: TechCrunch)
