Digital Hires Hit 5 Year Low
In two of the U.S.’s largest cities, New York and Boston, digital hires in 2016 ended at a 5-year-low. There are likely multiple causes for the slowdown, but one is certainly the well-reported decline in venture capital investing over the past six months. New York’s hiring scene has been steadily eroding for the past 18 months, while Boston’s took a sharp downturn in the last 6 months. Many companies are increasingly keeping a closer eye on their payrolls.

Galaxy Tab S3
Korean electronics giant Samsung announced two new tablets at the Mobile World Congress expo in Barcelona: The Android-powered Galaxy Tab S3, and the Windows 10-powered Galaxy Book. The screen is HDR-ready, making it the first tablet to support videos with greater dynamic range. They come with support for detachable keyboards, S pen compatibility, a microSD slot for up to 250GB of space and they look like a blown-up version of the S7. Google Assistant
Google has elected to launch Google Assistant for all phones running Marshmallow and Nougat OS. The update is only available in the US, Canada, UK, and Germany. Google Assistant responds to all the same commands as previous versions of Google Now and voice-activated Google searches. However, the AI-powered Assistant is also able to answer your commands based on what’s in your Google accounts — asking for details from your inbox or photo collection, for example.
