Is Apple Participating in Black Friday?!
Is this really happening? Could Apple be having a Black Friday sale that is something other than an iTunes gift card with purchase? Maybe. In previous years, shoppers have gone to third party retailers to snag Apple products at a deal since Apple hadn’t offered any specials on hardware. This year Apple is teasing fans by telling those who visit their website to save the date for a one-day shopping event. This could be because Apple wants to boost sales around the holidays and have customers shop through them instead of third party retailers. Makes sense. (Source: Time)
Public Wi-Fi Finder with Facebook
Facebook doesn’t want you to go without free public wi-fi. A new feature from Facebook wants to connect you with the public wi-fi networks around you. The feature is still in testing but there overall idea of the feature is to “To help people stay connected to the friends and experiences they care about, we are rolling out a new feature that surfaces open Wi-Fi networks associated with nearby places” according to a Facebook spokesperson. This isn’t just listing open networks like your computer would show but is an actual map of nearby locations where you can pick up public wi-fi. Genius. (Source: Mashable)
Apple Replacing Faulty iPhone Batteries
Recently, Apple iPhone 6s users discovered that their phones were randomly shutting down. Frustrating. Apple is now saying that is is a faulty battery issue and they will repair the phones battery for free. There is only a small number of phones that have been affected by this fault with a serial number ranging from September and October 2015. If you’re one of the frustrated users with a self-shutting down phone, contact Apple support online or visit an Apple store to see if your phone is eligible for a fix. (Source: Wall Street Journal)
