Have You Been Hacked?
With the recent Yahoo hack, you may be curious to know if your account has been a victim (Check out yesterday’s Skinny for more details). Yahoo claims they will email owners who have been hacked. This will be an official email, so it will have a purple “Y” replacing the check box. Yahoo also said to be aware of suspicious messages that prompt you to click on any links. But it you haven’t gotten an email yet, you might still wanna change your password. Also, you can check to see if your account has been hacked with the website haveibeenpwned. Just enter your email address, and the site will tell you when the breach occurred and what information was impacted. (Source: Mashable)
Dating App Verifies Your Photos with Selfies
The dating app Bumble will launch a new feature next week that make users go through a verification process using selfies. The new feature will first appear to users whose profile pictures have been previously flagged as suspicious. The verification will consist of Bumble showing you your images and then asking you to take a selfie mimicking your pose or gesture. If your selfie matches your image, then you will be verified. This will be a short process only taking a few minutes, but you are required to complete this process within seven days. (Source: Mashable)
Canva Offers Charts
Canva, the online graphic design tool, is now offering Canva for Charts. The tool will allow you to create pie charts and bar graphs featuring cool color schemes and fonts. Canva CEO, Melanie Perkins, wants people to “stop making ugly graphics.” She also says Canva has big goals to replace Microsoft Office or Adobe Creative Cloud in the graphic design industry. However, they have a big battle in front of them, Canva has only has 1.2 million users while Microsoft has 1.2 billion users.. (Source: BuzzFeed)
