‘Hearthstone’ Introduces New Expansion with ‘The Boomsday Project’
Game developer Blizzard recently introduced a few changes to its 2016 game release, Overwatch. They introduced a new hero, Wrecking Ball, and the company is planning to release a new game titled, World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. It may seem that the game developer has forgotten about its fan-favorite card battler, Hearthstone. This is not the case. Blizzard is planning to release an expansion set, The Boomsday Project, in less than a month.
The company has revealed that their latest Hearthstone game expansion will be a blast from the past. The new set of cards are said to be focused on science, with an emphasis on the mechs and weapons. The company also taunted the prospect of revamping a few explosive goodies that are created by the goblin researcher, Dr. Boom. This release of The Boomsday Project feels like a sequel to the Hearthstone first expansion, Goblins vs. Gnomes. The themes are all too similar for one to overlook. Sites like Betfair and Pinnacle offer games with similar design aspects to Hearthstone. Visit Efirbet to get more sites that offer these games.
Blizzard has kept mum on the official announcement for the game but they did quietly release a ten-minute reveal video. From the video, we can tell that the new mechanics in The Boomsday Project feature a new Magnetic keyword. This keyword lets you combine mechs with other cards to share stats and boost powers. Blizzard is also set to release new projects that will feature new spell cards with super powerful effects. This installment of Hearthstone will also introduce a new spell feature, legendary spells.
The new installment will feature 130 new cards. Blizzard has already released the first five cards:
Spider Bomb – this new card will feature a new keyword Magnetic. Mechs with magnetic attributes can work in two ways: 1) they can be used as normal minions. This means that when you drop this card, it will have its own stats and effect; and 2) the second function will act as a buffer to another Mech. The card will feature the text ‘Magnetic Deathrattle: Destroy a random enemy minion.’
Omega Defender – this card will be useful to draw when the game is starting or coming to an end. It will cost four mana and feature the text, ‘Taunt Battlecry: If you have 10 Mana Crystals, gain +10 Attack.’
Biology Project – this will be a common card that will cost one mana.
Myra’s Unstable Element – this card will feature the text, ‘draw the rest of your deck.’
Electra Stormsurge – this will be a legendary card that will allow you to cast your next spell twice.
The expansion is also set to add a new solo experience, The Puzzle Lab. The game developer will avail more information on this campaign later. For more information on The Boomsday Expansion, Blizzard will host a live stream on July 23. It is expected that all information on the expansion will be made available before it launches. The expansion is set to launch on August 7th and will be available on platforms such as PC, Mac, and mobile.
