The Curious Case of Rolling Stone
Earlier this week, Rolling Stone magazine settled a libel lawsuit with former University of Virginia associate dean Nicole Eramo for a 2014 claim of gang rape at UVA, accusing Eramo of being the “chief villain” and not taking sexual assault cases seriously. Investigators and experts would later say the claims were mostly false, and Eramo would sue Rolling Stone for the damages. $3 million was the original amount, but the Rolling Stone writer said ‘nvm’ and settled on a private amount with Eramo.
