Fast Food Gets Faster
Being a fry cook is no easy job. Hazards like trips, burns, and cuts are a commonality. Enter Flippy, the burger-flipping robot from Pasadena-based Miso Robotics. The little bot comes equipped with sensors to detect what is cooking on the grill and makes orders based on what is punched in from the cashier. Ever get frustrated when your tennis opponent called your shot out of bounds when it was definitely in? The In/Out, by Grégoire Gentil, is a tiny GoPro-sized device that you can strap to a tennis net. Priced at $200; the device beeps whenever a shot sails out, and players can watch video replays to check accuracy. With an additional In/Out app, players can connect their smart devices to see exactly where shots landed during the match. Music streaming service Spotify has acquired Sonalytic, an audio detection startup. Sonalytic produces audio detection technology that can identify songs, mixed content, audio clips, and track copyright protected material. Additionally, the app can help aid in music search, making it a natural fit for Spotify. It seems personal playlists will only get more personalized with the assistance of this new integration.
