Apple to Release 4 New iPads in March
It seems a monster year is in for The Fruit. According to a report by Mactokara, Apple is rumored to be preparing for the launch of 4 new iPads, with sizes including 12.9, 10.5, 9.7, and 7.9 inches. While the 12.9 and 10.5 sizes will most likely be a continuation of the current iPad lineup, the smaller sizes will replace the iPad Mini. In a similar report by MacRumors, these new tablets will have 4 speakers, a 12-megapixel rear camera, and four microphones. The main question for Apple is why hasn’t the iPad become more than an entertainment device for toddlers on airplanes. (Source: Mashable).
A Smartphone For Selfies
Chinese beautifying app Meitu has renewed popularity on Twitter (the app launched in 2008). Meitu gives you anime-like big eyes, rosy cheeks, lush lips, and dreamy hair. Riding this momentum, Meitu has released a phone focused (pun intended) on selfie-takers. Enter the T8, equipped with 12 autofocus megapixel cameras on both the front and back of the device. The cameras utilize a Sony IMX362 sensor to provide faster autofocus and clear up lower-light pictures. With added facial-recognition technology, this phone’s selfie-taking tech appears to be an advancement. (Source: Mashable).
Snapchat Spectacles Hit Online Market
If you’ve ever wanted your own pair of Snapchat Spectacles, you’re in luck! Thanks to a new website, built by parent company Snap Inc., you can now buy a pair of Spectacles for $129. Previously, to buy Spectacles, one had to search for strategically placed vending machines in certain cities. Like Google Glass before them, part of Spectacles’ allure was their scarcity. We’ll see if sales increase or if it was just a fad. We are leaning toward #fad. Oh, Snap. (Source: ARS Technica)
