Oculus Creating Spider-Man Gloves
Oculus already has touch controllers that allow the players to pick up virtual items and wield weapons. Mark Zuckerberg revealed from his visit to the Oculus (reminder Facebook bought Oculus for a cool $2 billion) research facility in Washington a new prototype for gloves. Zuckerberg writes, “We’re working on new ways to bring your hands into virtual and augmented reality. Wearing these gloves, you can draw, type on a virtual keyboard, and even shoot webs like Spider-Man. Sheldon will be happy to know that now Spider-Man can do anything a spider can. #BigBangTheoryInsideJoke. (Source: TechCrunch)
Whatsapp Strengthens Security
Whatsapp has added a new security feature. Users need to go to their account settings to enable the two-step phone number verification feature. “When you have two-step verification enabled, any attempt to verify your phone number on WhatsApp must be accompanied by the six-digit password that you created using this feature,” the WhatsApp support team wrote in a FAQ page about the new feature. If users forget their password, they can always get a link to reset their password. (Source: PC Magazine)
LG Wins Lawsuit
At last, a year long effort against companies producing counterfeit versions of wraparound Tone headsets comes to an end. LG was suing for $200 million dollars, but it was ruled at $168 million with all court fees paid, damages and interest. “With this ruling, along with other judgments against various other defendants, LG has successfully slammed shut a sizable portion of counterfeits and knockoffs sold in the US”, said the technology company. Hooray for lawsuits! (Source: Engadget)
