Amazon’s Flying Delivery System Successfully Delivers On First Run
As if Amazon needed to brag about anything, CEO Jeff Bezos released a statement on Wednesday that the company’s air trial service had finally delivered its first package to a partner company. The drone practice flight took place in London’s Cambridge region and lasted 13 minutes, successfully delivering a package to the company. These high-tech drones, part of the Prime Air program, are controlled by GPS guidance and fly at under 400 feet, with the ability to carry up to five pounds. Even though getting clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration about the drone’s safety is the next step in the process, safe to say Amazon is paving the way for the future of package delivery.
