Ford Buys Chariot
Another car company wanting in on a rideshare company…not too surprising. Ford’s CEO, Mark Fields, has been talking about how they want to be ‘both an auto & mobility company.’ A step in that direction has been their recent purchase of Chariot, a San Francisco-based shuttle company. Chariot works through crowd sourcing, allowing strangers to be dropped off at specific drop off points throughout San Fran; with this new partnership, 5 new cities are going to be introduced. Chariot is saying this is a win/win because they get to expand and build out their routing technology. How much will this cost Ford is currently on the DL. Considering General Motors invested in rideshare company Lyft for $500 million earlier this year, it’s safe to say the Ford/Chariot deal came with a hefty price tag. (Source: Wired)
A Genius Idea For Apple’s AirPods
Poking fun at Apple’s wireless AirPods had been a thing this week because, let’s be real, two little pieces that we are expected to keep track of? Not realistic. It was only a matter of time until someone stepped in to solve this. Enter: Spigen. Spigen is California based company who sells iPhone accessories. They’ve taken advantage of the AirPods and introduced the AirPods strap. So simple yet so smart. For $9.99, you can avoid losing one of you $160 headphones. The “safety strap” attaches to each AirPod and allows you to keep them in place. Check out the great idea here. (Source: Mashable)
