What You Did (or Didn’t Miss) at the VMA’s Last Night
If you missed the VMA’s last night, well…you didn’t miss much. People are saying it was by far the “tamest” VMA’s yet. Meaning no Madonna-Britney make out, Miley Cyrus twerking, or Kayne West & T-Swift feud. All we got was a lotta Rihanna, a lotta Beyoncé and a lotta jackets with no shirt (Check out Buzzfeed’s article on the celebrities who got the memo here).
However, there were some notable moments. One being the U.S. women’s final five gymnastics team (minus Gabby) presenting an award to Beyoncé. *Tear.* Drake was late because of traffic, didn’t even perform, and then was denied by Rihanna when he tried to lean in for a kiss after presenting her an award. Sounds like a bad night for him. Britney performed after being MIA since 2007. Kanye West gave a speech and called out Amber Rose and Taylor Swift (big deal after his music video for “Famous”) and released a new music video. And Twitter didn’t miss a beat. Supposedly Beyoncé was the most-tweeted moment for her showstopping Lemonade performance. (Source: USA Today)
Driverless Cars Continued..
Uber is getting its butt kicked by NuTonomy, driverless vehicle startup. NuTonomy launched its driverless taxi services in Singapore last Thursday. They are claiming to be the first in the world to provide such a service. As of now, there are only six cars available so count yourself lucky if you can score a ride in one. The city is hoping they can cut the number of cars on the road to half. You can hail the taxi like any other ride-hailing service – through your smartphone. However, the cars are only traveling a measly 2.5 square miles. (Source: Digital Trends)
Fitbit Breaks Out with New Features
You may have heard of Fitbit, the company that designs wearable wristband trackers to track things like miles walked in a day or to track your sleeping patterns. Now they have come out with Charge 2 and Flex 2, sequels to the first generations of Charge and Flex. The key differences in Charge 2 are the removable bands to spice up different looks, its ability to adjust to different exercises and track them as such, and Guided Breathing (helping guide someone in deep meditation). Flex 2 is being noted as the first swimproof tracker. Not to mention you can buy accessories with it like Tory Burch and Vera Wang. S’cute. (Source: Techcrunch, CNET)
