When we originally released this video, hateful comments and threats flooded in by the thousands. In order to protect the women in the video, we removed the video from YouTube. Afterward, courageous women and men took a stand and initiatives like #MeToo and #LeanIn took off, raising awareness about the Gender Gap. It’s important to know our intent isn’t man-hating — many who worked on this video are male; it’s to educate, empower and inspire. It’s not a ‘he’ or a ‘she’ thing, but a ‘we’ thing.
